How to

Starting Position

1. Make sure to keep your neck and shoulders relaxed throughout the movement. 2. Do not jerk your body up with momentum use your core muscles to lift your torso. 3. Do not hold your breath during the exercise.

Form

1. Lift your upper body up towards your knees, bringing your shoulder blades off the ground. 2. Pause at the top of the movement and then lower your torso back down to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale as you lift your torso up and exhale as you lower your torso back down.

Precautions

1. Lie on your back on a mat or the floor with your feet flat on the ground and your knees bent. 2. Place your hands either behind your head or across your chest. Keep your chin slightly tucked. 3. Engage your core by drawing your belly button in towards your spine.
