How to

Starting Position

1. Sit down on the seated leg press machine and adjust the back rest so that your lower back is comfortably supported. 2. Place your feet on the foot plate with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart. 3. Place your hands on either side of the machine for support.


1. Slowly push the platform away from your body with your feet, extending your legs until they are straight. 2. Once your legs are extended, raise your heels off the platform as far as possible. 3. Hold this position for a second and then lower your heels back down to the platform. 4. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Breathing Technique

1. Breathe in as you push away from the platform and exhale as you raise your heels. 2. Hold your breath as you hold the top position and then exhale slowly as you lower your heels back down to the platform.


1. Make sure to keep your back and head against the back rest throughout the exercise. 2. Do not allow your knees to lock out as you extend your legs. 3. Do not use too much weight as this can lead to injury.
