Dumbbell Step Up
1. Stand in front of a step or bench with a dumbbell in each hand. 2. Position your feet hip-width apart, with your toes pointing forward. 3. Place your right foot on the top of the step/bench. 4. Keep your core tight and your back straight.
1. Push off with your right foot and extend your right leg to lift your body up towards the step/bench. 2. As you raise your body, lift the dumbbells up towards your chest. 3. Return to the starting position by lowering your left foot back to the floor and the dumbbells back to the starting position. 4. Repeat the movement with your left foot.
1. Exhale as you push off with your foot and lift the dumbbells up. 2. Inhale as you lower your body back to the starting position.
1. Make sure to keep your core tight and your back straight throughout the entire movement. 2. Avoid arching your back or leaning too far forward. 3. Do not lock your knees when extending your leg. 4. Be sure to keep your foot flat on the step/bench when pushing off.
