How to

Starting Position

1. Begin standing with your feet hip-width apart. 2. Grasp the kettlebell handle in one hand. 3. Press the kettlebell up to your shoulder. 4. Make sure your wrist is straight and your elbow is tucked in close to your body.

Form

1. With a powerful hip thrust, stand up and press the kettlebell up over your head. 2. As the kettlebell reaches its peak, punch your arm straight up and allow the kettlebell to flip over and land in the racked position. 3. Once the kettlebell is in the racked position, lower it back down to the shoulder.

Breathing Technique

1. Exhale as you thrust your hips and press the kettlebell up. 2. Inhale as you lower the kettlebell back down.

Precautions

1. Make sure your wrist and elbow are in the correct position throughout the entire movement. 2. Make sure to keep your core and glutes engaged to protect your lower back. 3. Make sure to keep your shoulder blades retracted throughout the entire movement. 4. Make sure to use a light weight to start and build up to a heavier weight as you become more comfortable with the movement.
